Prices (Current at July 1st 07) obviously vary according to the date you want to travel on and the airport you want to travel from.
To ensure accuracy, check the websites of the carriers listed above.
Also bear in mind that you may get the cheapest prices from airports that require a lot of traveling from your home.
However it might be more cost effective still to pay that bit more to fly from your local airport as it could relieve you of the hassle of the extra & earlier time in transit, and the expense of arranging transport and parking etc.
CAR HIRE
AutoEurope offer car hire from many European airports.
As an example the cost of hiring a Ford Fiesta 4 Door, with with air con from Lyon on 7th January '08 for one week costs £140.39 - approx. £19.66 a day
Easy Autos also offer car hire from most European airports. They quote the cost of hiring a Citroen C3 1.4 5dr with air con. from Grenoble on 7th January '08 for one week as £143 - approx. £20.41 a day .
These prices generally include basic level insurance, but if you have a bump that is your fault, you normally have to pay a large excess. You can normally offset this by paying a small amount for CDW (Collision Damage Waiver).
Unless this is priced excessively high I recommend purchasing this if you are going to be driving in icy conditions up a mountain!
Also if you are driving in the mountains don't forget to pre-book the snow chains - it is illegal to be without them in most alpine countries !
