Getting good boots is a very good idea. When I first went skiing we hired boots and a lot of abrasions and bruising an the legs. We all chipped in for dressings and creams to try to improve things.
Hire boots are OK but make sure that you spend time fitting them.
I know it's a mad rush when you get there and everyone wants to get their boots sorted but you can try as many pairs as you like throughout your stay.
Following my first ski holiday I got my own boots fitted and I am very pleased that I did (I have big feet and toenail problems). Best cash I have spent in a long time.
As Geoff said in an earlier email, there are some good bargains to be had out there.
My lass bought boots on holiday and got a good pair (Nordica) at a very good price compared to UK prices. I bought mine at home and paid through the nose for them (good boots, though)! |
