Hi

Have been meaning to post this since I got back from France in March, but c'est la vie.

We were in Les 2 Alpes in the middle of March with some total beginners and found the resort to be really great value and the skiing extensive. Despite the fact that it was really sunny (one of our group ended up really sunburnt), for most of the week there was a huge dump of snow, which was great. The side effect of the sun was that the lower slopes were quite slushy by mid-afternoon.

It was a great resort for the beginners as there are 5 free drag lifts at resort level which meant most days they didn't need a lift pass and if they did there is a limited lift pass which covers the lower drag lifts and chairs.

Not as ugly a town as some reviews would have you believe and plenty of resonable places to eat. We did so much skiing we were unable to hit the nightlife and were in bed by 10pm on a couple of nights!

All in all I would thoroughly reccommend Les 2 Alpes to all levels of skiier, cheap accomodation, flights etc.

Unfortunately next year I will only get away to ski for one week _ I was spoilt this year with two ski holidays.

We were thinking of Switzerland - maybe Saas Fee or Nendaz - will book within next couple of weeks so will let you know.

Les2Alpes - one of my favourite cheap places to ski.
Thanks for report Beryl.
I agree with it entirely, and if you do decide to go there Cathy, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
If you have any complete beginners with you the free lifts at bottom of mountain are a bonus - but these are the first to melt in sunny weather. (there is still a good nursery area at top of mountain, but you have to pay [for lift pass] to get there)
Let me know if you go there
Thanks
